I believe that I am a happy person
Funny though,
I have to declare it
Spoken out loud while forcing a half-asses smile -
On a cracked mirror
That is so broken
You can barely see a happy face.
Maybe I used to be a happy person
Once upon a time
When youth still shines in my eyes
Bright and hopeful
Like a breezy spring day.
But now,
I have to say
That I believe that I am
Fundamentally a happy person
Before circumstances forced me
To be perpetually unhappy.
Such is the fact of life.
